| While her status may have changed -- from immortal to mortal -- personality is one of those things which easily stayed intact even with the emotions which came with her new found mortality. Raphael is still highly outspoken, preferring to take a logical approach to decisions rather than basing them on emotions considering emotions, as she has seen many times before, lead to often stupid and reckless decisions and actions; They get people hurt and hurt is the last thing anyone needs to experience especially when it comes to the inhabitants of Seattle. That being said, she does have an undeniably soft spot when it comes to her friends and family even if a few just so happen to be demons, most of which she doesn't care for. Over the years, they had kept away from the affairs of mankind, working through the churches and other believers to spread word and grace across the population. Of course, Seattle was perhaps one of those exceptions, constantly finding itself in turmoil because of the demonic presence in the city. It was during the fall of Auriel that the angels made themselves known, four of the seven taking on mortal vessels to walk among mankind. While that was resolved in their favor, a number of angels had fallen from grace whether by their actions or by their own choice, finding their own differences with the life they had followed for so long. After blessing the Tolonis with a child of their own before Edward's descent into Hell, Raphael herself followed suit and stayed with former archangel turned cop, Michael Custos. | For a number of years until she had a grasp on human emotion and what was expected of her in this new life, Raphael stayed there and inevitable found her calling once more in the health industry, starting on those studies to become a physician. While she couldn't necessarily work the miracles she could before with the grace of God on her side, it didn't mean she couldn't help out the weak and weary. Taking on the alias Rebecca Azarias -- Azarias after Raphael's disguise when traveling with Tobias -- she eventually moved away from Seattle to attend Harvard Medical, using some nice faux papers and identification, not to mention a charismatic attitude and recommendations galore from her institutes of study, to actually get into the university. All the meanwhile, Seattle had fallen into a far poorer state than she had left it in, Raphael watching from her residence in Massachusetts. There was little to actually send her back there, Raphael plenty busy with not only her residency, but writing ventures which digs into the cause and aftermath of the Seattle apocalypses from a perspective that very few could actually relate to or even see for themselves. Somehow in the midst of it all, she had made plans to travel, jet setting to Europe -- particularly Italy )because of, of course, a fascination with the churches and temples people erected for the Lord) and France (one trip to extend condolences to the family of Father Christopher Delacroix when he had met his death) -- on a few occasions to primarily keep in touch with the religious community. It was the latest problems with Gabriel Cross and the rumored downfall of Seattle completely thanks to said vampire king and the increase in hospital admissions in the area with problems which related more to vampires and the occult than typical medical issues which brought her back, Raphael extending her skills and expertise to the general hospital there. Of course, it isn't going to stop her from doing perhaps a bit more good on the field or even tracking down those friends and family that she had left a number of years ago.
